Sue Stradling – Neath Port Talbot – Psychotherapeutic Counsellor MBACP(Accred)
About Sue Stradling
I understand that seeking out the right therapist for you can be a difficult process. You need to feel safe and supported in making changes in your life.
A person centred therapist and artist, I use my skills and passions whilst working with people to enable them to explore and transform their own lives. When I work with clients, I see the relationship as a partnership. You are the expert in your own life, and it is my job to help you access those resources that you already possess.
I started off my working life as an Environmental Health Officer, and this still informs my work, particularly my work within housing and mental health, and stress and working conditions. I have undergone many changes in my own life, and that experience helps me relate to my clients.
Since leaving local authority work, I have retrained as a counsellor, clinical hypnotherapist and life coach, and I am listed on an accredited register with the Professional Standards Authority, as a hypnotherapist and as a counsellor/ psychotherapist. I am an accredited registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy.
Previously, I was employed as Counselling and Training Co-ordinator for Neath Port Talbot Mind, a local charity offering advice and support to empower anyone experiencing a mental health problem, where I have gained vast experience. I now run a busy private practice at The Health Dispensary, Neath, along with working as an Associate Lecturer with the Open University.
I am also a photographer and use art and creativity in my work with clients and group work to enhance the person-centred healing process.
Fully insured, with a current enhanced DBS check and safeguarding training for children and adults.
