Mixed Media – Textured Backgrounds

For my creative journaling workshops, I have been experimenting with different backgrounds for layering.  This one reminded me of ageing skin, with brown age spots and blue thread veins.

It interested me so much that it may be used in collage work for my work on identity for my MA Arts Practice (Arts, Health and Wellbeing), where I am exploring “Past, Present and Future.”

Textured Backgrounds

Materials:

Tissue paper (crumpled up)

Acrylic paint – brown and portrait pink

Oil pastels – turquoise
