Creative Journaling – Things that I love

Things that I Love

Have you ever taken the time to think about the things that you love?  Really think about them? Most of us go through life noticing things in our lives that we’re not so happy about, and perhaps don’t spend enough time appreciating the fabulous things that we all have …. family, friends, ….. favourite food and drink …. time to enjoy our hobbies … films and TV programmes …. a special song …. blue skies ….. green grass and fresh flowers …… the list goes on for me, and I’m sure it does for you too. We spent some time at our Creative Journaling group thinking about the things that we love, and how important it is notice and to pay gratitude to what makes us happy. Most of us naturally tend to focus on negative aspects of our lives and waste energy thinking about them and how to fix them or stop them happening again. This art journaling exercise helps us to change the direction of our thoughts so that we train our minds to look for aspects of our lives that we’re grateful for.  And we all have a lot to be grateful for – there’s always someone worse off than you! Let’s face it, if you have food in your fridge, clothes on your back, a roof over your head and a place to sleep, you’re richer than 75% of the world. We talked about how in times when we didn’t feel so great, it is the things that we love that help to hold our heart together – even if it feels a bit frayed at the edges at times. So, why don’t you join in with us and journal about the things that you love?  What fills your heart with love?  Think about what shape your heart might be – you might not want it to be a typical heart shape.  Fill it with colour, pattern, shape, and add any decoration that you want. This is your time to be creative! Enjoy filling your journal with love.
